Olena Zelenska has travelled to Washington, where she met with U.S. President Biden and his wife, Jill Biden.

Zelenska embraced Jill Biden and received the flowers from the president.

Jill Biden has previously travelled to Ukraine, on a surprise visit to mark mother’s day.

“When I came back, one of the things that I said was, you cannot go into a war zone and come back and not feel the sorrow and the pain of the people.”

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expected “significant results” from his wife’s meetings in Washington.

Olena was tasked with increasing U.S. support for Ukraine to “protect people from Russian terror”.

“I strongly believe it will be heard by those people responsible for making decisions in the United States”.

The First Lady also unveiled a humanitarian effort for children who have lost their limbs during the war. The scheme allows the children to travel to the U.S. for urgent emergency treatment.

Meanwhile, it’s understood the meeting also discussed mental health concerns for mothers and children who have suffered from the atrocities.

Russia maintains the war is a special military operation to protect its own security.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says relations with Iran are developing well, as he makes his second foreign trip since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.

The Russian President is in the country for meetings with the country’s Supreme leader, as well as the Turkish president.

Grain exports, Syria, and the Ukraine conflict are high on the agenda.

Putin is hoping to build stronger ties with Iran, one of Moscow’s only remaining international allies. He is also meeting with Turkey’s president, who’s nation relies on the Russian market as it grapples with inflation and a rapidly depreciating currency.

Putin is trying to guarantee the safety of grain shipments passing through Turkey, but says more work needs to be done.

This comes as Russian energy giant Gazprom signs a new development deal worth $40m with Iran’s state oil company.

It happened on a street in Brooklyn that was being used as a set for the TV show.

31-year-old Johnny Pizarro was a contractor who was tasked with securing street parking for vehicles for the production.

The man was sitting in a car enforcing a no parking zone when a man walked up to him and shot him multiple time in the head and neck.

He was taken to Woodhull Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead just before 6am, police said.

The NYPD’s crime scene unit was at the scene for hours collecting evidence and going door-to-door trying to find neighbours who might have seen something.

NBC and Universal Television, which produce the TV crime series, said in a statement, “We were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result.

“We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time.”

It was a case that spurred widespread outrage. Bodega worker Jose Alba, who fatally stabbed a man who assaulted him during a dispute inside the Hamilton Heights store was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after the incident earlier this month.

Austin Simon, 35, went into the store to confront Alba, 61 after his girlfriend was denied a bag of chips for her daughter after her credit card was declined at the Bluemoon Convenient Store.

Alba allegedly had snatched the chips back from the girl. The woman told Simon, who then went to the store, walked behind the counter, and pushed Alba.

Simon’s girlfriend then allegedly pulled a knife from her purse and stabbed Alba in the arm.

Minutes later, Simon came to the store, entered the small, employees-only area behind the counter, shoved Alba against a wall of shelving, and grabbed him by the collar to lift him out of a chair and force him out of the employees-only area, prosecutors said. He said he wanted Alba to apologize to the girl and to come outside to fight him.

“I don’t want a problem, papa,” Alba is heard on an audio recording telling Simon.

With Simon holding him by the collar and forcibly pushing him out, Alba grabbed a knife from a shelf beside the counter and repeatedly stabbed Simon as they struggled, prosecutors said. Simon died at a nearby hospital a short time later.

After surveillance video was released that showed Simon first coming behind the cashier’s desk and attacking Alba, several protests were organized and calls for the charge to be dropped began citing self-defense.

On Tuesday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to dismiss the murder charge against Alba.

New York Mayor Eric Adams (D) said, “We had an innocent, hard-working New Yorker who was doing his job and someone was extremely aggressive toward him, and I believe that after the DA’s view, the DA in my opinion made the right decision.”

Alba could have faced up to 25 years in prison if he had been convicted on the murder charge.
